2012 Good Apple Reception

On Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 6:00 p.m., the Massachusetts Appleseed Center will host its 5th annual "Good Apple Reception" at the Boston Harbor Hotel. This year, MA Appleseed is delighted to honor Edward J. Weiss, General Counsel of Fenway Sports Group, owners of the Boston Red Sox and the Red Sox Foundation.

Edward J. Weiss, General Counsel of Fenway Sports Group
Throughout his career, Mr. Weiss has demonstrated his strong commitment to the community and has marshaled resources, both in private business, through the Red Sox Foundation and through his individual charitable work, as a vehicle for positive change, particularly in the area of support of education. Mr. Weiss was named General Counsel of Fenway Sports Group in September 2009. In that capacity, he manages all legal aspects for Fenway Sports Group's portfolio of companies, including the Boston Red Sox, the Red Sox Foundation (honored by Major League Baseball in 2010 as baseball's most exemplary charity), New England Sports Network (NESN), Fenway Sports Management (FSM) and its newly acquired Liverpool Football Club (of the English Premier League), each of which advance substantial charitable programs that support the health, education, recreation and social service needs of children and families especially within New England. Mr. Weiss is a "Good Apple" in the truest sense.
